Mumbai

Quick Itinerary

The Mumbai, aptly known as City of Dreams located on the west coast of the Indian peninsula, from beaches to theme parks, from historical sites to religious spots. While the skyline is dominated by high-rises, the true soul of Mumbai is found in its street food stalls, where each bite has a story to tell.
The City That Never Sleeps
Mumbai: The City of Dreams and Celebrations

Mumbai—the City of Dreams—welcomes you with a pulse that never stops. From the very first moment, the energy is infectious. Life buzzes through every street, every honk, every wave crashing along Marine Drive. Landmarks like the majestic Gateway of India and the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus remind you of the city’s layered history, while Marine Drive—aptly named the Queen’s Necklace—offers a peaceful pause amidst all the motion.

What makes Mumbai truly unforgettable, though, are the personal moments. The heart of this trip was celebrating Maa’s 75th birthday—a day overflowing with love, joy, and that rare feeling of deep connection. It grounded me in the middle of a city that never slows down. Staying at the Intercontinental along Marine Drive made it even more special—the view of the coastal stretch, especially at sunrise and dusk, felt like watching the city breathe.

Mumbai is a cultural kaleidoscope, especially when it comes to food. From grabbing a hot vada pav on the street to sitting down for a refined meal at a fine dining restaurant, every bite felt like a journey in itself. And for a cinema lover like me, knowing Bollywood’s magic lives and breathes here added another layer of excitement.

While the tour of IndoChine,

Mumbai’s food scene is just as vibrant and diverse as its people. Every corner offers something unique, and I couldn’t help but dive right in. The creamy indulgence of Gupta Kulfi was the perfect way to cool down after a long day. Trendy Taste’s tangy Dabeli had that perfect balance of spice and crunch—an absolute street food gem. And Amar’s Pav Bhaji? Rich, buttery, and packed with flavor—classic Mumbai comfort food at its best.

From the chaotic charm of street stalls to the warmth of tucked-away local joints, Mumbai’s flavors stay with you long after the meal is over. Every bite told a story—and I was more than happy to listen.

The Street Food Adventure

Mumbai is a food lover’s paradise. From its streets to its alleyways, the city dishes out flavors that are bold, spicy, and memorable.

Morning Kickstart

Tucked away in the heart of Mumbai’s street food scene, Maruti Pav is nothing short of a local legend—and now I understand why. Their vada pav is the stuff of dreams: a crispy, golden potato fritter tucked inside a soft pav, slathered with that fiery garlic chutney that hits all the right notes. One bite, and I got it—this isn’t just street food, it’s Mumbai in a bun. The flavor, the heat, the simplicity—it all came together in the most satisfying way. No wonder this spot is everyone’s go-to.

Cheesy Indulgence

Mumbai’s spin on South Indian food is as bold and dramatic as the city itself—and nothing captures that better than the legendary Mithi Bhai Cheese Dosa. This isn’t your average dosa. It’s a crunchy, golden canvas piled high with molten cheese, punchy chutneys, and perfectly spiced masala. Watching the vendor in action—layering cheese like he’s painting a masterpiece—was half the fun. But that first bite? Absolute, melty bliss. It’s messy, indulgent, and totally unforgettable—just like Mumbai.

Sweet & Spicy Perfection

I wrapped up my food journey at Nukkad Dabeli, and honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better finale. This is where Mumbai’s street food flair meets Gujarat’s iconic snack—and the result was pure magic. One bite brought an explosion of flavors: sweet, spicy, tangy, and just the right amount of crunch. The spiced potato filling, toasted pav, crunchy peanuts, and bursts of pomegranate all came together like a perfect symphony. It wasn’t just a snack—it was an experience. The final stop on my food trail, and hands down, one of the best.

Mumbai is not just a city, it’s a flavor-filled odyssey. Each stall I tried had its own character, each dish had its own story to tell, and each bite drew me in even more. From first-time tourists to lifelong Mumbaikar, these iconic street food places are a must-see.
