Standing within its ancient stone walls, gazing out at the panoramic views of Salzburg and the Alps beyond, I couldn’t help but marvel at how this mighty fortress has withstood the passage of time.
No visit here would be complete without soaking in the city’s musical legacy. The Sound of Music tour brought childhood nostalgia rushing back—it was incredible to see the iconic meadows, fountains, and quaint landmarks come to life, each one more enchanting in person than on screen.
Strolling across the Makartsteg bridge, adorned with countless love locks, and wandering through the peaceful elegance of the Mirabell Gardens, I found moments of reflection and quiet joy. These places weren’t just beautiful—they were grounding, filled with a kind of stillness that stays with you.
And after each day of exploration, returning to the Crowne Plaza made it all the more perfect. The comfort, the warmth, and the view made this magical city feel like home—even if just for a while. Salzburg truly is a dream woven in music, history, and alpine grace.
