Vancouver

A Pacific Northwest Escape

Vancouver is one of those places that just has it all—gorgeous scenery, a lively city vibe, and endless things to do. From ocean views to stunning parks, every moment here feels like a postcard. My trip from June 14 to 16 was packed with amazing sights, local spots, and just the right amount of adventure.

Cruising into Vancouver

The trip started with a ride on the Swartz Bay Ferry, and honestly, it felt more like a mini-cruise. The fresh ocean breeze, beautiful islands, and even the chance to spot whales made it an unforgettable ride. It’s the kind of experience that makes you slow down and soak it all in.

Beyond the Tourist Hotspots

Instead of the usual stops like Lions Gate Bridge or Capilano Suspension Bridge, I took a different route to explore the city. The Vancouver City Tour gave me a feel for the place—modern glass towers, cool little neighborhoods, and gorgeous waterfront views everywhere.

I spent time at Granville Island, which is packed with artsy shops, street performers, and a public market full of delicious food. I grabbed some fresh seafood and just enjoyed the laid-back vibes. Chinatown was another cool stop—walking through its historic streets and grabbing some dim sum made for a perfect afternoon.

A Floral Retreat

Crossing into Washington, I found myself at the Rose Garden in Washington Park, a peaceful oasis that was in full bloom. The sight of thousands of colorful roses against the backdrop of the city skyline was a moment of pure serenity.

Next up was the Furry Creek Golf Course, often called one of the most scenic golf courses in Canada. Even if you’re not a golfer, this place is worth a visit just for the jaw-dropping views of the ocean and mountains.

Wrapping Up the Trip

After an amazing trip, I dropped off the rental car in downtown Vancouver and checked into the Sheraton Wall Centre. The views from the hotel were incredible, especially at night when the city lights reflected off the glass buildings. Sitting by the window with a drink in hand, I couldn’t help but think—Vancouver is one of those places you never really want to leave.
